Hot Springs Pet Therapy
The Hot Springs Pet Therapy group is a program that brings the healing presence of animals to people in healthcare facilities, schools, children's daycare, libraries and other community associated functions. Working throughout Garland, Saline, Hot Springs and Montgomery counties they provide an outreach that is straightforward. It begins with people, mix in cold nosed appreciation and you have a recipe for meaningful moments and positive memories.
An animal visit can offer entertainment or a welcome distraction from pain and illness. Animal visits provide something to look forward to as is the case in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, and can encourage children to be less aggressive and more compassionate as they relate to an animal's body language.
The special volunteers at Hot Springs Pet Therapy bring warmth and love to people who aren't able to experience the joy of pet ownership. All dogs and puppies who go on visits are temperament tested and love the extra attention they receive.
Since the group officially became a not-for-profit in 2006, hundreds of volunteer hours have been logged.
The funds used for this program come from donations and volunteer dues.
"Hot Springs Pet Therapy
is a small community group
that fills the needs of individuals."
